A wonderful UNHW family of four are looking to appoint a hard-working, well-presented and meticulous temporary Housekeeper/Laundress with a can-do attitude and a pleasant, calm disposition to work for just over a month. You will be providing a high level of service during the family’s visit to their countryside home and large London penthouse and have an excellent eye for detail, be friendly and approachable, yet boundaried and discreet.
You will need to have excellent knowledge of cleaning products and knowledge of how to care for furniture and surfaces with high-end finishes, as well as being proficient in laundry care. Duties will include occasional service but will focus on the laundry and housekeeping duties such as cleaning bedrooms, bathrooms, lounges and dining areas and ensuring the highest of standards are maintained at all times. Assisting the Chef with dishwashing from time to time will be required, so you must be a friendly team player.
Accommodation in the Cotswolds is provided in a lovely staff house close by and you will have your own bedroom but share a bathroom and living/dining areas with other staff members. Accommodation in London will be your own private studio apartment approximately 20 minutes by tube from the penthouse. Working days will generally be between 8-12 hours, depending on the family’s schedule. All food and travel between the two properties are included in the package. Prior yachting experience is highly desirable, but not essential.
DUTIES TO INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
· Deep cleaning and preparing the house for the family’s arrival
· Cleaning including dusting, mopping, making, and changing beds, cleaning bathrooms, lounges, and dining areas
· Daily turn-up and turndown service
· Laundry and ironing, including caring for delicate garments
· Occasional table service
· Polishing silver and glassware
· Assisting the Estate Director with ad-hoc tasks
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
· Prior housekeeping and laundry experience, preferably on superyachts
· Fluency in English
· Eligibility to work in the UK
· Hardworking and dedicated
· High attention to detail
· Able to work independently with little supervision
· Trustworthy and reliable
· Calm, discreet and respectful
· Excellent checkable references
